About Cooper Martin & Luxury Adaptive Clothing
The term "luxury health care clothing" sounds like an oxymoron. Health care related products have typically, since the beginning of time, been high on functionality and very, very low on aesthetics. Think peek-a-boo hospital gowns, scrubs, and diapers. Certainly none of these would leave anyone feeling good, much less looking like his or her fabulous, healthy self. But Cooper Martin, a new, stylish brand of health and recovery care clothing is challenging the stodgy, sterile medical and recovery care products status quo.
In lieu of muumuus, diapers, and the ever-fashionable cut-off, torn apart sweatpants following surgery, facing limited mobility or living with disability, Cooper Martin ups the fashion-ante with a high-style, high-performance line of clothing that looks remarkably similar to the favorite basics packed away and relegated to the back of your closet. A reliable pair of classic men's khaki. A fashionable pair or wide-leg floor skimming women's black pants. A luxurious pair of lounge pants. Cooper Martin's laser focus on fashion and function delivers a much needed and long-overdue stylish alternative to muumuus and peek-a-boo gowns for men and women with limited mobility.
Cooper Martin clothing intricately and discretely mixes elements of English-style tailoring with cutting-edge athletic-inspired functional details. Utilizing high quality fabrics, zippers and trims along with innovative construction, patent-pending technology and good classic cuts, Cooper Martin clothing eliminates the struggle with the simplest and most critical of daily tasks - dressing.
While revolutionizing the traditionally lackluster and lifeless medical care and recovery clothing industry, Cooper Martin clothing retains the look and feel of everyday favorites. Cooper Martin is about the basic things that we feel comfortable in -- only better versions of them -- during a time when you're not feeling yourself.
ABOUT SARAH

A lifelong student and lover of all things fashion, Sarah Lindholm is Head Designer of Cooper Martin. Sarah, a former attorney, become interested in the health care clothing industry when her boyfriend's father, Hugh, underwent total knee and total hip replacement surgeries a number of years ago. During his year-long recovery, Hugh was unable to find clothing that would simultaneously suit his discriminating tastes and accommodate his post-surgical recovery. Athletic-inspired sweats and warm-ups, which Hugh deemed embarrassing and unsuitable for public consumption, were the only available clothing items he could wear in the months following his operations, and even these weren't that comfortable given his limited mobility. Hugh was consequently unable to venture out of the house until his post-surgical injuries and limited mobility subsided and he could dress in his normal fashion.
Numerous studies have shown that a patient's inability to resume normal routine activities for an extended period of time post surgery can result in depression, poor self-esteem, low self-worth and diminished enthusiasm for life. In Hugh's case, the inability to dress and live normally negatively impacted his mental state and dramatically slowed his recovery. Surprised and frankly appalled by the lack of suitable clothing options for Hugh, Sarah founded Cooper Martin to provide high-quality, stylish and functional garments for men and women with limited mobility.
Given that unattractive, athletic-inspired clothing was the only clothing available to Hugh during his recovery, it is ironic that Sarah looked to the athletic-apparel industry for inspiration for Cooper Martin. The best sports-apparel companies use cutting-edge materials and manufacturing techniques to enhance the athletic performance, durability and comfort of their garments. While the best-of-the-best is used to enhance the performance of the best conditioned humans on the planets, those with limited mobility are relegated to antiquated, unflattering clothing ill-suited to their most basic of needs. Through extensive observation, study and research, Sarah realized that if she could apply this same creativity and technology to Cooper Martin clothing, she could create classic garments that are both stylish and highly functional -- the genesis of Cooper Martin's Active Recovery Technology.
Cooper Martin pants are the first in a long line of high-style, high performance products for the health care and recovery industry. Cooper Martin infuses classic styles with the performance and functionality needed by those living with limited mobility. When you are wearing clothing made by Cooper Martin, no one else but you will know that you aren't wearing your favorite staples. That is exactly what Sarah wants.
